Perfect Wirral conservatories windows and doors, double glazing

Conservatory Solid Roof

A solid conservatory roof is perfect for replacing old glazed conservatory roofs or creating a new glazed extension. The system is highly insulated to keep rooms warmer in winter and cooler in the summer. For a space you can use all year round.

We use Icotherm for our solid roofs, we provide four tile styles: Envirotile, Icoslate, Metrotile.

  • Envirotile is really lightweight and has a unique interlocking, dry-fix system. That means it's really quick to fit and there's no need for any cement. Envirotile comes with a 25-year 8Fix storm-proof guarantee on top of the Icotherm 10-year guarantee.

  • Icoslate offers the genuine look of slate with impressive durability. It’s been specially designed to seamlessly suite with existing roof tiles.

  • Metrotile is made from a lightweight, high grade steel with Aluzinc coating for an elegant finish. Metrotile offers the great aesthetics of slate with improved weather-resistance and strength.

Icotherm solid roof conservatory comes with a choice of 9 colours, to match in with property roofs.

Why we use Icotherm

Icotherm Solid Roof System is based on proven Structurally Insulated Panel (SIP) technology to create an energy efficient solid roof conservatory.

Icotherm features highly insulated timber frame pods that easily fit together to form a structural roof system which can be finished in a choice of Tapco slate, metal tiles or Icoslate lightweight tiles.

Icotherm features clever ventilation which prevents any risk of condensation and stops the build-up of damp within the roof.

Seventy percent of an Icotherm Solid Roof is pre-assembled in our factory so there’s far less work to do on site.

Our standard of conservatory window glass

Up to 80% of energy loss through a window occurs at its edge.

Warm edge products aim to minimize this energy loss. Warm Edge Technology refers to the edge construction of a double, triple or quadruple glazed unit that conducts less heat or cold than traditional windows and standard construction glazed units.

Standard glazed units or insulated glass sealed units are constructed with an aluminium spacer to hold the glass apart. However, aluminium is highly conductive and also has an exceptionally high thermal energy loss.

Comparatively, double glazed windows fitted with warm edge spacer have a warmer internal edge temperature by up to 65% which helps to improve the thermal efficiency of the window and reduce the risk of condensation.

Warm edge also significantly lowers the temperature differential between centre and edge of unit and up to 94% reduced heat loss (or heat gain) at the external edge of your window.

While making a real contribution to the environment, this heat saving can help to reduce the heat consumption or air conditioning requirements of a home which lowers carbon emissions and saves money on fuel bills.

Warm edge technology can also help to reduce condensation on your sealed unit by up to 70%. This reduction in moisture virtually eliminates the chance of mould growth and potentially harmful bacteria. This is an essential consideration for the increasing number of people who suffer from respiratory conditions such as asthma.
